My Experience With Boot Camp

I use one of the oldest MacBook laptops at the moment and I think it’s using MacOS 10. 0 Lion and it was actually tough for me to do one or two tasks on the PC. I tried installing Windows 7 via Bootcamp but it doesn’t work and I even tried using a Windows 7 disc via the provided DVD-Rom but still, there was no breakthrough.

So after a couple of online research, I was able to find a way out, it didn’t really work though but I used my own knowledge + the one I gained online and together I was able to install Windows 7 on my Macbook Air and later upgraded it to Windows 10. Don’t worry I’ll list the software needed to install Windows 7 or Windows 10 on your MacBook PC if the Bootcamp Assistant Method doesn’t work.

How To Install Windows 10 On MacBook using Boot Camp Windows 10 (Part 1)

This is where the real job takes place, my methods might not be clear due to the lack of a video tutorial, but if you follow it perfectly, you’ll be able to install Windows on your MacBook PC.

  1. The first thing you need to do is download and install NTFS for Tuxera for Mac on your MacBook laptop, then restart your PC. Once you’ve restarted your PC, you’ll need to partition your Hard Drive and to do that, follow the next step below.
  2. Open Finder from your dock, then search for Utility Folder, then double click on Disk Utility, then select the Drive you’ll like to Partition, set the storage space you’ll like to put on the second drive, then name it Windows or any name you want.
  3. Then under the Partition Layout, set the portion format to be NTFS because the first one will be MAC OS Extended.
  4. Then hit on the apply button and wait while your Hard drive gets partitioned into two drives named Mac OS Extended and Windows.
  5. Now you’ll need to download and install rEFIt on your PC, then reboot while pressing the ALT button (for the first time) then you’ll see options to boot to Mac or the Windows partition. Boot to your Mac OS.

  2. Now Insert the Flash Drive inside your Macbook PC, then copy all the Windows files from it into the Windows Partition drive on your Macbook.
  3. Now restart your MacBook PC, then when it comes up, Boot your PC from the Windows Partition while the Flash Drive is still connected.
  4. Automatically it’ll read the Windows files and it’ll proceed to install Windows 7 on your Partitioned drive.
  5. Set the needed preferences and proceed to install Windows 7. Once done, download Bootcamp 3.0 from the download link above, then install it and let it drive your PC, once done, Restart your PC into Windows Drive.
  6. Now visit This Link, then download the Windows 10 Updater from Microsoft, Run it and download the latest Windows 10 Build. Once downloaded, restart your PC to Windows Drive and let it complete the installation process.
  7. Once you’re on Windows 10 Fully, you can now Download Boot Camp 6.1 from the above download link and let it drive your PC with the latest Windows Drivers.

Please pardon the unavailability of images and videos for proper guidance, I only have just one PC, therefore it’s impossible to create videos and images.
